Our Mission
Since our launch in March 2011, HOH has worked to connect the military community with meaningful employment opportunities.
The American workforce is undergoing one of the most profound transformations in generations. At Hiring Our Heroes, we believe the military community isn’t just ready for the future of work — they’re built to lead it. We pair experiential learning, employer-aligned training, and scalable digital tools with the U.S. Chamber’s vast network to bridge the civilian-military divide and position military talent at the forefront of an evolving economy.

See the full story of how HOH served nearly 80,000 members of the military community in 2025 — from experiential fellowships and career upskilling to the launch of the Skilled Trades Academy and The Collective.
What began in 2011 as a series of on-base hiring fairs has evolved into a comprehensive workforce platform serving military-connected talent at scale. HOH now operates across more than two dozen military installations and online, connecting service members, veterans, and military spouses with employers through hiring events, paid fellowships, career upskilling, digital tools like Resume Engine, and a centralized job board.
By pairing trusted, on-the-ground relationships with scalable digital solutions, HOH has tripled the number of individuals served since 2020, meeting the military community wherever they are in the world.
Military spouses face a 20% unemployment rate and nearly 50% underemployment, driven by frequent relocations, licensing barriers, and limited access to childcare. The financial and career toll on military spouses directly impacts military readiness: nearly one in three military families would prefer to leave the military altogether, and one in four experience food insecurity.*
HOH addresses these systemic barriers through dedicated spouse hiring events, connecting military spouses with employers for Career Accelerator fellowships, Amplify career preparation programs, and portable upskilling through SkillsBuild — creating durable career pathways that move with military families.
