What’s New in 2019
Each year we work to develop and improve our programs and services with the goal of bringing military families one step closer to achieving the American dream.
This year you can expect expanded opportunities from each of our programs. Whether you find us hosting events in new locations or expanding our program offerings, we are excited to better connect the military community to meaningful employment in 2019.
At Hiring Our Heroes’ hiring events, there is something for everyone, no matter where you stand in the employment journey.
WE HAVE A NEW LOOK
We are starting 2019 off with a new digital look. Our website has been completely refreshed to be more user-friendly for both job seekers and employers. With more intuitive and visually attractive features we are already experiencing a growth in traffic and expect for that trend to continue well into 2019 and beyond.
Our web revamp has gone beyond a new look and feel. We have changed our registration platform to a more user-friendly one able to streamline communications and event data for job seekers and employers alike. Happy surfing!
SUMMITS HAVE TRANSITIONED
This year we are revamping our innovative “Transition Summit” and presenting the newly launched “Career Summit” to be more inclusive of the diverse population at military installations around the globe.
As our nation’s military force evolves, so does Hiring Our Heroes.
We recognize the need to focus on, not only transitioning service members, but military spouses, veterans, and those who simply want to get a head start by staying educated and informed.
NEW MILITARY SPOUSE LOCATIONS AND OPPORTUNITIES
In 2018, we launched our first Military Spouse Economic Empowerment Zone (MSEEZ). By the end of the year, we saw eight launches in six states.
In 2019, we will be launching nine more locations: El Paso, Texas; Georgia, Wisconsin, Leavenworth, Kansas; Chicago; Las Vegas, North Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina; and Killeen, Texas.
We have seen tremendous growth across our Military Spouse Professional Network (MSPN) locations. That is why, in 2019, we are adding networks in Offutt, Stuttgart, Cherry Point, Fort Lee, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Spokane, Chicago, Carlisle, Dover, JB-Charleston, and plans are in the works to add college campus expansions.
The career intensive program, AMPLIFY, has continued to bolster employment opportunities for spouses across the country.
In 2019, due to popular demand, we have tripled the number of events we are offering to include Fort Bliss, Texas; JBLM, Washington; For Leavenworth, Kansas; Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Phoenix, Arizona; Las Vegas, Nevada; Hampton Roads, Virginia; San Diego, California; Killeen, Texas; Washington, D.C.; Tampa, Florida; and San Antonio, Texas.
CORPORATE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM EXPANDS TO TWO NEW CITIES
The Corporate Fellowship Program (CFP) closed out 2018 with 729 fellows and expects to serve nearly 1,000 in 2019.
Currently operating in 13 states, CFP is looking forward to expanding to Chicago at the beginning of the year and St. Louis in mid-2019.
NEW PARTNERSHIP FOR STUDENT VETERANS
We are launching a new partnership with Student Veterans of America, which will bring hiring events and community events to college campuses to highlight the student veteran population.
Each year we strive to improve our programs and services, working together with our partners to encourage a fundamental shift in the military ready employment landscape.
Through small changes we can hope to increase the impact and exposure of our programs; ultimately bettering the lives of military families through increased economic opportunities.
