Corporate Fellowship Program for Transitioning Service Members, Veterans and Military Spouses in Maryland & Washington D.C.

About

The Corporate Fellowship Program for the National Capital Region connects transitioning military service members, military spouses, and recently separated veterans with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the civilian workplace through an on-the-job fellowship with businesses of all sizes.

The National Capital Region Corporate Fellowship Program is a Maryland-based program and is possible due to a $4.3 million Department of Labor, National Dislocated Worker Grant awarded to Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation (AAWDC) and is offered in collaboration with Military Corps Career Connect (C3). C3 serves Maryland’s transitioning service members, active duty military spouses and recently separated veterans (non-retirees).

 

Fellowship Program Eligibility Requirements for Transitioning Service Members

This 12-week program is held 3 times a year. Each cohort consists of 15–30 active duty service members. Fellowship candidates are carefully matched with participating companies based on the specific skills of the candidate and the preferences of both parties. Candidates then undergo exclusive on-the-job training at their host company, gaining firsthand experience in the private sector. This knowledge is amplified with weekly educational sessions held as a cohort in a classroom setting.

 

Active duty candidates must:

Be on active duty and within 180 days of transition (separation or retirement) from military service at the time of the 12 week program

Possess a bachelor’s degree and three or more years of leadership experience or an associate degree and five or more years of leadership experience

 


 

Fellowship Program Eligibility Requirements for Recently Separated Veterans

The program for recently separated veterans features a 6-week paid fellowship for veterans residing in Maryland and Washington, D.C. The fellowship offers free career planning, coaching, and preparation with a program manager, resume and interview assistance, and access to in-demand industry credentials, certifications, and licenses.

 

Recently transitioned veteran candidates must:

Reside in Maryland or the District of Columbia

Must be honorably separated within the last 48 months

Possess a bachelor’s degree with three or more years of work experience or an associate degree with five or more years of work experience

All veteran CFP applicants must be unemployed or underemployed, and have lived in Maryland for less than 48 months.

 


 

Fellowship Program Eligibility Requirements for Military Spouses

The fellowship program for military spouses features a 6-week paid fellowship for spouses residing in Maryland and Washington, D.C. The fellowship offers free career planning, coaching, and preparation with a program manager, resume and interview assistance, and access to in-demand industry credentials, certifications, and licenses.

 

Military Spouse candidates must:

Reside in Maryland or the District of Columbia

Be a spouse of an active duty service member

Possess a bachelor’s degree with three or more years of work experience or an associate degree with five or more years of work experience

All military spouse CFP applicants must be unemployed or underemployed, and have lived in Maryland for less than 48 months.
