The Corporate Fellowship Program for the National Capital Region connects transitioning military service members, military spouses, and recently separated veterans with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the civilian workplace through an on-the-job fellowship with businesses of all sizes.
The National Capital Region Corporate Fellowship Program is a Maryland-based program and is possible due to a $4.3 million Department of Labor, National Dislocated Worker Grant awarded to Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation (AAWDC) and is offered in collaboration with Military Corps Career Connect (C3). C3 serves Maryland’s transitioning service members, active-duty military spouses and recently separated veterans (non-retirees).
This 12-week program is held 3 times a year. Each cohort consists of 15–30 active duty service members. Fellowship candidates are carefully matched with participating companies based on the specific skills of the candidate and the preferences of both parties. Candidates then undergo exclusive on-the-job training at their host company, gaining firsthand experience in the private sector. This knowledge is amplified with weekly educational sessions held as a cohort in a classroom setting.
