Military Technician Education Network
The Military Technician Education Network (M-TEN) is an all-new Registered Apprenticeship Program developed by Toyota Motor North America in partnership with Hiring Our Heroes and the Department of Labor. M-TEN allows transitioning active duty service members, veterans, military spouses, and adult children of service members to participate in an intensive 12-week automotive technician training program and earn credits toward becoming a certified technician.
The M-TEN begins with 12-weeks of instructor-led training to build a strong foundation for your technical education. During this phase of the program, which takes place while the service member is on active duty, participants will receive training in four ASE certification areas at a Toyota-designated training facility.
Following the 12-week intensive training, the apprentice technician continues the M-TEN program at a participating Toyota or Lexus dealer through an “earn while you learn” 1,520-hour apprenticeship with a certified Master Technician or mentor to build technical skills and provide career development. During this phase of training, veterans can opt to use their GI Bill to receive benefits such as a monthly housing allowance.
All military skillsets are welcome to apply for the program; the only requirements are a love of vehicles and a mechanical aptitude!
Classes for the 12-week, instructor-led training will be held in Austin, Texas, and Jacksonville, Florida.
