Join us Tuesday, September 17, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. as we bring employers with available jobs to the Frank Jones Conference Center  for Hiring Our Heroes – Portsmouth, NH. At this free hiring event, employers across all sectors will be on-site to interview and recruit veteran job seekers, active duty military, members of the National Guard and reserve components, and military spouses.

This employment event is a being conducted by U.S. Chamber of Commerce; local Chambers of Commerce; the Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment & Training Service (DOL VETS); New Hampshire Employment Security; New Hampshire Committee, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR; the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; The American Legion; NBC News, and other local partners.

An employment workshop aimed at helping veterans and transitioning service members leverage military experience to achieve civilian career goals will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Hiring Our Heroes Employment Workshop

The Hiring Our Heroes employment workshop consists of a classroom session beginning one hour prior to the hiring fair. This will be followed one-on-one mentoring sessions with all pre-registered and walk-in participants to be conducted throughout the day.  Mentoring sessions focus on resume building, resume writing, and interviewing techniques for all job-seeking veterans and service member participants.

Interested candidates must complete the FREE electronic pre-registration in order to participate.  A maximum of 50 participants will be accepted for the full workshop.  Once the pre-registered candidates have their coaching sessions, the opportunity may be available for “walk ins” to have a coaching session through the end of the Fair (depending on availability).
