Join us on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for an industry specific job fair for veteran job seekers, active duty military members, Guard and Reserve members and military and veteran spouses at the Kansas City Convention Center Grand Ballroom 2501, 301 W. 13th St., Kansas City, MO.

This Call of Duty Endowment-, Caterpillar- and Toyota-sponsored event will be a one-of-a-kind FREE hiring fair for both employers and job seekers. Hosted by the Society of American Military Engineers, this Hiring Our Heroes fair will focus on Engineering, Construction, Architecture, Environmental and related service providers seeking to hire qualified veterans and military spouses for current job openings. This hiring event is being conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), the Department of Labor Veterans Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS), the Missouri Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), the United States Army Reserve (USAR), the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, The American Legion, NBC News, and other local partners.

Parking: Free parking will be available to all job seekers at the Kansas City Convention Center. Job seekers may park at the surface lot located on the northwest corner of 16th St and Central St. Once that lot is full, job seekers may receive free parking validation at the Arts District Parking Garage, located directly south of the Kauffman Center (entrance on Wyandotte).

Hiring Our Heroes Employment Workshop

The Hiring Our Heroes employment workshop consists of a classroom session beginning one hour prior to the hiring fair followed by HR professionals conducting one-on-one mentoring sessions with all pre-registered participants.  Mentoring sessions focus on resume building; resume writing, and interviewing techniques for all job-seeking veteran and service member participants.

Interested candidates must complete the FREE electronic pre-registration in order to participate.  A maximum of 50 participants will be accepted for the full workshop.  Once the pre-registered candidates have their coaching sessions, the opportunity may be available for “walk ins” to have a coaching session through the end of the Fair (depending on availability).
