Join us June 21, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. for a job fair for veteran job seekers, active duty military members, guard and reserve members, and military spouses at the Cuyahoga Community College-Advanced Technology Center, 3409 Woodland Avenue, Cleveland, OH. This event will be a one-of-a-kind FREE hiring fair for both employers and job seekers.

This hiring event is being conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Greater Cleveland Partnership, the Cuyahoga County Veterans Service Commission, the Ohio Department of Veterans Services, the Department of Labor Veterans Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS), the Ohio Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, The American Legion, NBC News, and other local partners.

A workshop for veterans and other military job seekers that focuses on resume writing, tips for successfully navigating hiring fairs, military skill translation, and interviewing will start at 8:00a.m.

Hiring Our Heroes Employment Workshop

The Hiring Our Heroes employment workshop consists of a classroom session beginning one hour prior to the hiring fair. This will be followed one-on-one mentoring sessions with all pre-registered and walk-in participants to be conducted throughout the day.  Mentoring sessions focus on resume building, resume writing, and interviewing techniques for all job-seeking veterans and service member participants.

Interested candidates must complete the FREE electronic pre-registration in order to participate.  A maximum of 50 participants will be accepted for the full workshop.  Once the pre-registered candidates have their coaching sessions, the opportunity may be available for “walk ins” to have a coaching session through the end of the Fair (depending on availability).

Hiring Our Heroes has launched an online partnership with Military.com to complement our face to face hiring fair efforts across the country.  Veterans can get help writing resumes and interview tips; translating military skills, experience, and training into related civilian careers; and finding current lists of employment opportunities with military-friendly employers.
